Charles “Charlie” Ross Walker was a Zeta Lambda Sigma Chi, initiated in 1980 at the age of 77 years old. Retired from a successful career with the Fuller Brush Company, Charlie audited classes at Kent State, and epitomized the Spirit of Youth often credited to the youngest Sigma Chi Founder, James Parks Caldwell. Although remembered for his youthful energy, Charlie also personified virtually all the values attributed to our seven Founders, and in the process enriched many lives in the Zeta Lambda Chapter. All honor to his name!
The Charles Ross Walker Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to two (2) Zeta Lambda undergraduates each year, in the amount of $1,000 per scholarship. In addition to demonstrated financial need, scholarship recipients should be men of good character and students of fair ability, who exhibit one or more of the seven values attributed to the Sigma Chi Founders in a remarkable manner.
Potential scholarship recipients should complete the below form in its entirety by March 27th. This is the deadline for entries. The CA will review the applicants for suitability ( known or pending academic or disciplinary actions), and forward suitable applications to the Foundation Board Scholarship Committee.
